By working with calfskins and cowhides from its own chain, Oukro is able to provide its customers with substantive answers to questions about animal welfare, animal health, sustainability and traceability.
Efficient and sustainable production is of paramount importance at Oukro. For example, the company has its own solar roof. With this roof, made up of 1,578 solar panels, Oukro generates about a quarter of its own electricity needs. It is also virtually gas-free, thanks to, among other things, smart use of residual heat from the production of sister company Ekro. In this way, Oukro is actively working to continue improving its environmental performance.
For production, Oukro has a state-of-the-art manufacturing process at its disposal, which guarantees the best possible quality of the products. The overall sales market for our calfskins and cowhides is divided between Europe and Asia. Customers are mainly tanneries and manufacturers of shoes and bags.
